Local celebrities and those from Hong Kong, Singapore and Indonesia are here for tonight's charity football tournament semi-finals.
The Singapore team, led by Chinese serials actor Edmund Tay, was the first to arrive at the Penang International Airport in Bayan Lepas about 12.30pm yesterday.
The inaugural Rainbow of Life Forces (ROLF) Cup All-Star Charity Football tournament semi-finals kicked off in City Stadium here.
The tournament is part of a four-day programme which started yesterday and will end on Dec 1 to create awareness and raise funds for children suffering from cancer through the Blue Ribbon campaign.
The Hong Kong team, which will be playing against Singapore, arrived later in their eye-catching red sports jackets. Among them were Eric Tsang (a prolific actor, film director, film producer and television host best known for hosting the Super Trio Series), veteran actor Teddy Robin Kwan, Wong Yat Wa, Wan Chi Keung, Tang Siu Chuen and Cheung Siew Fai.
Playing against host Malaysia will be the Indonesian team that includes artistes such as Budiman, Zainal Abidin, Amir Abdurachman Hakim, David Rene Oakley Wicaksono, Saleh Ali Bawazier and Mohammad Rifki Abdullah.
Malaysia’s team members are Vince Chong, Hans Isaac, Anthony Chang and Zax Lee (Astro Talent Quest winners), Ferhad, Afiq, comedian Accapan, Jym Chong, Christopher Arul, Denes Kumar, Shamrin and Farish.
The winners of each encounter will advance to the final while the losers will fight for third spot in the playoff in Bukit Jalil on Dec 1.
